A Tricep Move That Corrects Muscle Imbalances and Improves Upper Body Strength

A single-arm overhead triceps extension is great because it trains each arm independently and puts the triceps—especially the long head—in a stretched position.
Benefits include:
* Builds triceps strength and definition, particularly the long head.
* Helps correct strength imbalances because one arm can’t compensate for the other.
* Challenges shoulder and core stability more than a two-arm version because you can’t stabilize the dumbbells against each other.
* Allows you to focus on elbow position and range of motion on each side.
* The overhead position gives the long head of the triceps a deep loaded stretch, complementing moves like Tricep pushups or kickbacks.
Form Tip:
Keep your upper arm fairly vertical with your elbow pointing forward/up. Lower the dumbbell under control, then straighten the elbow without letting your shoulder or torso do the work.
This is an especially good variation paired with tricep push-ups because it gives you a different stimulus and a deeper stretch.
Try it in this weeks TOTW “Centuries”. The super set of single arm overhead tricep extensions and tricep pushups will increase upper body strength and definition. 💪
